A now page is a little glimpse into the things that occupy my time. It's a little bit like a diary, but paired down in my case to an overview of things I am doing or have done. Typically, things in life that would be logged here progress slowly, so don't expect changes every day, but I'll try to update it once a month at least.

Working on...

At work

Your regular patching, maintenance and helpdesk escalations, plus:

• Unravelling ancient AD/GPO configs and implementing sensible structure and policies and migrating/upgrading servers for clients... without any end user impact. Not easy...
• Security improvements, testing and validation
• Messing about with ELK stack as a potential replacement for our existing monitoring solution

Online

Anything with an internet orientation deserves its own little section.

• Adding features and content to this very site
• Keeping up to date on the latest infosec goings on
• Investigating potential of building an education oriented tech podcast and community

At home

The home, the family, and other AFK things.

• Trying to get sewage treatment plant installation organised
• Keeping fruit, veg and flower plants alive and growing
• Spending as much time with the family as possible

Reading

• The Wandering Inn - [ongoing] This is my favourite ongoing web serial right now. Next chapter when?
• Super Supportive - [ongoing] a relatively new web serial that quickly entered my top 5 web serials. And it sounds like it's set to be a long one too!
• Pale - [ongoing] Whilst waiting for chapters of TWI and SS to come out, I read this. It's fantastic, as all Wildbow serials are, and I'm so glad I saved it so I could read it all once it was finished
• Lord of the Flies - [ongoing sporadically] classic book, I read it in school and it's the next book on a list of 100 books that must be read. I'm slowly working through it!

Gaming

• Pokemon Go - [ongoing] kid loves it and it helps keep him (and us) moving, so why not
• Prey (2017) - [ongoing sporadically] my solo game, slowly playing this. I really like it but I've been chipping away at it for like 2 years now. I really should dedicate some solid timeblocks to it... time... what's that again?
• World of Warcraft (retail) - [ongoing for all time] Oh wait, this is where all my relaxation time is going. Collecting mounts, toys, pets and achievements is pretty much all I do. And I love it.

Watching

• The Gentlemen - [finished] Spin off of the movie, a pretty decent show
• The Office (US) - [ongoing] should have watched this years ago, why did I wait so long!?
• Baby Reindeer - [finished] This is fantastic, That One Episode (IYKYK) is something powerful
• The Expanse - [ongoing, sporadically] Love scifi and I've been slowly working through this for quite a while now. It's great
• Ripley - [ongoing] A conman doing what he does best, only started this but it seems like it might be something good as it builds
• Jurassic World Dominion - [watched] This was better when we watched it in the cinema at release. Why is that? Now it's kinda corny and cheesy and there's some really dodgy acting and CGI going on to boot. Hmm.
