Yep!
Inspired by Jack Baty's nope list, this is a page of things I agree with or will do. These are generally moral decisions and probably related to me and my behaviours more than anything else. There will of course be way more "yep"'s than I will include on here, but I'll try and come back and note any ones I deem worthy of highlighting.
I have of course also added a /nope page, which as you can probably guess is essentially the opposite of this one.
In no particular order:
Will I...
- ...encourage information to be free and accessible? Yep, it wants to be. Information is a tool, and like all tools there are upsides and downsides to allowing it. Which is also why I...
- ...strongly encourage education? Yep, I believe it's the solution to all problems. An educated population is capable of making longer term decisions, which I believe to be better for the universe
- ...patch my shit? Yep, because when you are interested in infosec you gain an appreciation for how terrible almost everything is
- ...treat people based solely on their actions? Yep, it's not who you are or what you believe, but what you do.
- ...try to remember to make time for wasting time? Yep, time well wasted is not wasted time
- ...value experiences over material items? Yep, I actively try to minimise personal posessions that don't serve a purpose
- ...avoid multitasking? Yep, this is hard but I perform way better when I focus on one thing at a time
- ...try to stay organised? Yep, I can't keep things in my head easily. A kanban has positively changed how I work to such an extent that I cannot imagine going back to seat-of-my-pants'ing my workload anymore
- ...Increase my bank of patience? Yep! Sometimes I find myself responding to people - whether family or colleagues - in a manner that is more abrupt or snapish than I would like. I must work on this.
