Ideas
Things I've thought about doing at some point. Consider it my personal, loose todo list. Might be tech, might be completely unrelated.
Ideas for this website
In no particular order
- Add a robots.txt file - think about if I want AI to train on this content... 🤔 this will probably decrease the capability of those models
- Related to the above, a tdmrep.json file for expressing my data mining preferences
- Redesign the favicon - animated svg perhaps?
- I would love an interesting 404 page, I've seen a few that change on each hit or do something a little more interesting...
- More indieweb integrations/ideas
I've got a /now page... I want a way to archive theseDone!Create an rss feed againDone!Support for the CSS naked dayDone!- Design a footer for the site instead of the barebones thing that's down there at the moment
- Get someone with actual web design experience to tell me if this site design is any good, and inevitably fix it when it is not :)
- Redesign the comments and updates footer on some articles ported over from the wordpress site
- Verify if I've built the HTML & CSS exactly to spec. If not, fix it!
- Icons on the menu... new menu design?
- Comment the HTML, to quote James, to
explain how the web page works; what various HTML tags do, what all the scripts do, why some parts of a page have additional markup. It is my hope that my website can be helpful to someone learning HTML for the first time.
Such a great idea. - Have a landing page that is more than just a list of posts and instead has some character
Themes! Light, Dark, in all colours and configurations!- I've now got theme support!- Add Gemini protocol support
Ideas for /tools
I often have decent ideas for tools that might be useful, but I often forget them. No more! It's a shame I'm not very good at writing code. Hey, maybe I'll make some of these one day!
- A web-based scanner for commonly found files - this exists already in plenty of toolsets but I'd like to have a go at making my own version
- There's loads of these out there, but a page with the periodic table of elements and some useful data. Purely because I saw Augmented UI the other day. I really want to muck about with it, and the periodic table was the first thing that came to mind
- Build a super simple Gemini protocol server. Probably in PHP.
Ideas for life
Things I want in life that might be technology related and maybe even fyr.io related... but perhaps not?
- An edutech community. I guess a little bit like EduGeek but with a different focus?
- With a podcast - edu tech, news and security focus?
- Website with news, articles and guides
